When Nature Calls us Home

There is something sacred about stepping outside and letting nature meet you exactly where you are. The earth beneath your feet. The wind moving through the trees. The sun's on your face. The rhythm of your breath becoming a little slower. -Something shifts.

Perhaps our ancestors understood this more deeply than we do today. Long before screens, schedules, and the constant noise of modern life, people looked to the Earth, the sky, the seasons, and the turning of the wheel for guidance. They understood that we are not separate from nature—we are part of it.

For me, this connection feels especially close through my Celtic ancestry. The land of the Emerald Isle has always carried a deep sense of mystery and belonging for me. There is something about being surrounded by ancient stones, sacred landscapes, water, wind, and earth that feels like remembering rather than discovering. Perhaps that is what nature offers us—a way to remember.

Remember how to slow down. Remember how to listen. Remember that we, too, move through seasons.

As we approach the Autumn Equinox, the Earth reminds us of balance. Day and night meet, and then the light begins to give way to darkness. The trees begin releasing what they no longer need. The harvest is gathered. The landscape slowly changes. -Nothing is forced.

Nature simply knows when it is time to grow, when it is time to harvest, and when it is time to let go.

And then comes the Harvest Moon—a beautiful invitation to pause and reflect on what we have cultivated within ourselves.

What are you ready to gather and give thanks for?

What are you being called to release?

The changing seasons can remind us that letting go is not an ending. It is part of the sacred cycle of becoming. Sometimes we search for healing outside ourselves when the invitation is much simpler: Go outside!

Walk among the trees. Place your feet on the earth.Sit beside the water. Watch the moon rise. Feel the wind move around you. Take a breath and listen. Let the Earth hold you for a moment.

When we slow down and reconnect with nature, something within us can begin to settle. The mind quiets. The body softens. The breath deepens. We become more present to what is happening within us. This is where I believe the deeper healing begins—not by forcing, fixing, or rushing, but by creating space to listen.

The Earth has its own rhythm. -So do we.

Perhaps our ancestors knew that the land was not simply a place to live upon, but something to live with. The stones, trees, waters, moon, sun, and changing seasons were all part of an ongoing conversation with life. And maybe that conversation is still available to us. We only need to become quiet enough to hear it.

As the wheel turns once again toward autumn, I invite you to step outside and feel what is shifting within you. Honor what has grown. Give thanks for what has been harvested. Release what is ready to fall away. And trust what is quietly preparing to emerge. You don't have to have all the answers.

Sometimes the Earth simply asks us to breathe, listen, and remember.

Remember who you are. Remember where you come from. Remember that you are never separate from the Earth beneath you.

Perhaps nature isn't calling us somewhere new.

Perhaps it is calling us home.

Much love & blessings, Regina
