What we resist persists…

What we resist persists, a phrase we've heard many times, and yet we still find ourselves resisting.
Why is that?
Is it born out of fear? Fear of the unknown, fear of receiving love, fear of recognizing your own power, fear of truly healing, or fear of simply being YOU?
These fears that surround us are like clouds that can linger for days, weeks, and sometimes years. Some days they seem lighter and less noticeable, while other days they feel heavier. What if we approached these clouds with kindness, sat with them gently, and took the time to understand them?
This could be the beginning of creating more space within ourselves, allowing some of these fears to gently fade away. This is a place we yearn to connect with—a space where we can feel safe in embracing those parts of ourselves that long to be seen, felt, and acknowledged. Remember, these fears are not our true selves; they are parts of our history that are ready to be released.
When we start to experience a sense of freedom in our bodies, it can feel both exhilarating and a little frightening. Feeling what harmony and peace look and feel like helps nurture a sense of safety both inside and out. When we let go of carrying the weight of past events or emotions, our systems begin to open up, allowing more life and joy to flow through us. Adjusting to this new rhythm of life in flow may take a moment, but it invites us into a more harmonious state.
Imagine a jellyfish gently expanding and contracting, or a beautiful flower opening to receive sunlight and then closing at sunset. I love our heart—a muscle that enjoys a gentle, steady rhythm—expanding and contracting in tune with life. Our breath works in the same way; when it isn't restricted by prolonged tension, our organs and nervous system become calmer and more at peace. Much of our breathing depends on how well our internal rhythm aligns with life's flow. When in harmony, it offers us the gift of alignment with life itself—truly a magnificent gift.
Our journey is an ongoing cycle of expansion and contraction. Sometimes, parts within us can stay in contraction for a long time. You might notice soreness in your neck, back, or hips, or find yourself caught in emotional loops. It can feel like just part of who you are, but perhaps it's not. We are part of a rhythmic natural world, and nature itself is part of us. Our true nature is to flow harmoniously with this universal rhythm—the ebb and flow of existence. No good, no bad—just being.
What if we allowed ourselves to merge with this flow, giving space to the clouds, and gently releasing the contraction in stillness?
When we feel disconnected or stuck inside, it can create a misalignment with our spirit, which may show up as emotional or physical discomfort. The key is not to fight the clouds, but to receive them kindly, accept them with compassion, and love them as part of our journey. It’s about learning to move and breathe in harmony with life, rather than against it.
Life is a continuous flow—like a current carrying us forward. Remember to keep breathing, softly and steadily, wherever it may lead you.
